LiteManager Free

LiteManager Free can be used to control computers from a distance, but its functionality extends beyond that of a simple remote control utility. The software provides more than one way of connecting to a computer, it works over local networks and the Internet and it provides many other useful features, including the possibility of managing connections.

The software is free, as its name points out, but it comes in a paid version as well, which provides more features. The package includes two installation files, one for a server module and the other for the viewer. Both modules can be installed in under a minute, without making any complicated settings along the way.

You will spend most of your time with the viewer module, if you intend to control other computers yourself. The server module has to be up and running on a computer if you wish to control it remotely and clicking a button, on its compact user interface, is sufficient to prepare for the operation. On the viewer side, it is enough to specify the remote computer's IP address. Connections are established fairly fast, after you provide the server's password.

If you don't know the target computer's IP address or other characteristics, you can opt for a simpler approach when defining a connection. The server module generates an ID automatically, which you only need to type in when creating a connection. Although they are not mandatory, you can make many other settings when creating a connection. You can choose a default view mode, a color format, limit the CPU usage, change the server's port and much more.

Connections are displayed as large icons on the viewer's main user interface and you can organize them in folders and sub-folders if you want to. Double clicking one of these icons will establish its corresponding connection right away. Furthermore, you can choose between different connection modes, by selecting one of the tabs, on the right side of the interface, before double clicking a connection. You can decide to only view the remote desktop, control it, send commands, open its task manager, shut down the remote computer and more.
